| In August this year,"Imabari Jazz Town"
was held in Imabari City for the celebation of opening Setouchi Shimanami
Sea Way by the Committee of Ehime Shimanami Event '99. To inherit this event,
some of Jazzmen in Imabari City will open a Jazz Party at the hall of Imabari
General Welfare Building in Nov.28, at 6:30 PM. "Jazz Town" held in August has counted up to 18,400 audience in Imabari City and about 350 players of 35 professinal or amateur including student Jazz bands had been on stage of the festival. Mr.Shirou Hirao(44), representative of "Swing Kiss Jazz Band" says "Despite large or small scales, the Jazz Town should be continued by citizen themselves". This time they have invited 6 amateur Jazz bands from Imabari City, Matuyama City and Touyo City and with special guest of professional drummer Mr.Takeshi Inomata, one of Japan's leading drummers. This Jazz Party will be held at home for friendship and exchange, rating 2300 yen for a participant with a set of meals and drink.
