This essay is written for my Japanese class
in Jarvis Christian College. But it will show you the mysterious world
of human language, even if you do not learn Japanese. I refer so many topics
that I can not express in my class.
Before I teach Japanese in Jarvis Christian College, I was a public office worker in Oita Prefecture, Japan. Office workers must treat so much documents without fail but they do not notice their language itself. It was very strange for me, because in University I had studied philosophy, in which human language is an important theme. Extreme busy office job makes human mind blind but it is very dangerous for our life.
To tell the truth, I could not find so many students in my college. Generally speaking, American people do not want to learn foreign language so much because other people lean English. Even in the case of Spanish, the students to lean it are not so many. But it is unfortunate for our world because U.S. is a big country to have much influence to others in military, economic and culture. If American people continue to give the influence to others without learning thier languages, they will regard American influences as forced. When I saw Asian academic circles, they discussed in English pretty well. I fear U.S. to be a great but closed nation.
I hope not only to American but also all people to open their mind with language studies.

The closed mind is the branch that does not abide in the vine. Through communication with others we can live and be what we are.
Japanese may be seemed very strange for English
native speakers. For example, it can save subject easily. But it is true
that Japanese is a human language that functions as well as English. To
solve mystery is to find more fundamental world in the study of language.
