History of orange production in Nakajima

　

According to the history book of Japan argricultual assosiation for oranges in Nakajima, growing oranges started in 1872.A man whose name is Rokutaro Morita bought a hundred young orange plants from Wakayama-ken, where is one of the famous orange production areas in Japan, and many of farmers followed him.

Now we can find his monument and farmers have respected him.
