南端にあるディエゴガルシア島は最大の島で、インド洋最大のアメリカ軍基地が置かれているそうです。

ブレナムリーフは、英国領インド洋地域の チャゴス諸島 の北東部にある殆ど水没常態の環礁で、現在は チャゴス諸島 に含まれているようです。
ある時期に無国籍扱いでDXCCエンティティになっていた時期がありました。現在のDXCCルールでは、無国籍の場所や水没した場所などはDXCCエンティティに認められません。
（１９６７年５月４日～１９７５年６月３０日の交信がDXCCエンティティに有効で、１９７５年７月１日以降の交信はチャゴス諸島にカウントされているようです。）
Blenheim Reef is an atoll located in the northeastern part of the Chagos Is. within the British Indian Ocean Territory; it appears to be currently included
as part of the Chagos Is.. At one time, it was recognized as a distinct DXCC entity under a "stateless" classification (though under current DXCC rules,
stateless or submerged locations are not eligible for such status). Contacts made between May 4, 1967, and June 30, 1975, are valid for that specific DXCC entity,
whereas contacts made on or after July 1, 1975, appear to count toward the Chagos Is.
