Tobe Pottery for the World Peace

Tobe Pottery to Save the World?

Believe it or not, a work of tobe pottery is now at the United Nation Office in Geneva, Switzerland, placed in the hall leading to the UN Security Council meeting room. The work called "The Blue Planet of Life " is donated to the United Nation from Yasuhiko Shirakata, a potter of Tobe Pottery and Tobe Town. As you can see with this picture, it is the globe-shaped pottery and shows no national boundaries. Mr. Shirakara wanted to express the importance of the world peace to the V.I.P.s from many countires who come to the meeting room to talk about the reduction of armaments by not showing the borders on the earth.
